Confession of a Herpetophobia

“Ahhhhhhh!!!” shouted. I saw a lizard crawling into my room. I tried to stop it from going in when suddenly I remembered that the 1 minute I had spent with the LIZARD when I was 11years old…

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, I was lying on a pillow on the floor watching television. As the show that my mum was watching was very boring, I fell asleep very soon. I had a dream while I was sleeping. I dreamt about a house full of creepy crawlies and I was in it. I was frantically trying to get the lizards, beetles, ants and etc off me but they just refused to get off me!!! I screamed and the next thing I woke up, I was lying in front of the television. I heaved a sign of relief as it was just a dream.

I got up for a wash and a drink to calm myself down a little and got back to watching television. While I was lying on the pillow, I felt something cold under my shirt. I thought to myself, it is just the water that I used to wash myself up, so I put my hand in and clean it. Then it was dry and I continued watching my show. I was still thinking about the dream I had earlier on but managed to forget because the show distracted me.

I felt very thirsty after a while and got up to have a drink.
While I was going pour water into the cup, I felt something COLD underneath my shirt, then I thought: “I did not accidentally splash water on myself nor did I went to the washroom to bathe so why is there water underneath my shirt?” I put my hand underneath my shirt to wipe and when my hand came out… There was a LIZARD on my HAND!!! “AHHHHH!!!” I screamed as I threw the lizard away from me. I ran to the living room into my mum arms and went crying. My mum consoled me saying that it was over already, no point crying over spilled milk.

After all the crying and consoling, I went to take a bath and stayed in the washroom for an hour just to keep washing the part where the lizard laid on. After the bath, I told myself never to lay on the floor like what I did and to be BEWARE of LIZARDS in future!

School Holiday

Last November, I went to China with the school. It was really a fun experience for me as i had not gone overseas before without my parents. We had a 5hours ride on the plane before reaching China. Upon reaching, We had lunch over at China and took a 3hours ride from the airport to Suzhou. We had our luggage put in our hotel room before going for dinner at a restaurant nearby and the food taste so SALTY till I had to wash the vegetables in plain water before eating!!! Instantly, we made a joke saying that in China, their salt is free of charge!!! HeHe...

During our stay in Suzhou, the tour guide there took us to the places of interest and we took tons and tons of photos. It was very cold in China and unfortunately, i caught a cold!!! To people who are going China during the November holiday, remember to bring lots and lots of CLOTHINGS!!! :) We had to stay in Suzhou for 2nights and had to wake up around 7am on the third day as we had to rush to the Qidu Middle school for about 3days of exchange program.

On the third day, when we reach the school, the students were singing their national anthem so we, had to stand straight as a respect to their nation. While standing, the cold wind was blowing against my face and i did not put on my scarf!!! I was so cold that i shivered. After the national anthem, we had our luggage put in the hostel, there was 3 double deck bunk beds in a room and the bed was as hard as wood that made me unable to sleep well but still manage to get some sleep. The toliet in the room was so small and DIRTY!!! Further more, the toliets in the studying block had no DOORS for the cubicle... O MY GOD!!!

During our stay there, the students were very friendly and we did alot of art and crafts in their. We had to leave on the 4th day, although the hostel was not very wonderful but I miss my buddy. We put up a farewell performace for the students and they too put up one too. I had an enjoyable 4days and 3night stay at the school.

We had to leave after lunch towards Guangzhou. During our stay there, we went shopping and to the places of interest. We left for Hangzhou the following day and to had the longest shopping trip ever!!! I bought alot of things till my luaggage was nearly overweight!!! I had an wonderful and enjoyable trip to China. China WAN SUI!!! Hope i could go there again... Here are some photos...

Growth Day

Today is Growth day as well as target setting day. Today, we have to set targets for this year based on last year's results. Our form teacher wanted us to set our targets higher a level so that we could improve on ourselves further this year.

We were given back our last year's result sheet, every subject was recorded very clearly and i feel that my marks aren't that amazing so i have decided to work harder this year to achieve my goals. Upon getting the results, i felt quite comforting because I got at least a B4 for every subject. I excel in my math and chinese last year and yet my math was not that good when i was in primary school but did well in secondary school as i find algebra quite easy and fun. After setting my goals for this year, I hope the whole class including me to do their best in everything they do towards their goals!!!
